TOWSON, Md. – Recent graduate Jack Saunderson from the Towson University men's swimming and diving team is set to compete in the 2019 University World Games July 4-10 in Naples, Italy.

The World Games is a biannual, multi-sport event that puts the best university athletes around the world against each other in the spirit of international cooperation and camaraderie. Saunderson was named to the 52-member team roster last fall after competing in the Phillips National 66 Championship last summer.

Opening ceremony will begin July 3rd and closing ceremony will take place July 14th.

Saunderson will compete in the preliminary sessions for the 50-yard butterfly, the 200fly and 100fly. The 50fly preliminary will begin on July 4th at 3:30 a.m. ET. The 200fly is scheduled for July 6th at 3:30 a.m. ET and the 100fly is slated for July 8th at 3:30 a.m. ET.

The top 16 will advance to the semifinal rounds for each event and those take place on the same day of that event. Once qualified in the semifinals, the finals for each event will be the following evening of that event.
