Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Schedules Released

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University swimming and diving program will host three events in the Burdick Pool during the 2019-20 season, head coach Jake Shrum has announced.

The Tigers will host their annual Alumni Meet on Sept. 14. The meet offers current and former Towson swimmers to connect as well as gives fans the opportunity to check out the Tigers. After the meet they will have the annual dinner.

The regular season will begin on the road for the Tigers as they take on the Hoyas of Georgetown on Oct. 10. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

"As in past years, we are again facing many conference champions, so it'll be a challenging schedule but great competition," said Shrum.

On Friday, Oct. 18, Towson will travel to Annapolis, Maryland to compete against George Washington, Johns Hopkins and host Navy. The women will also compete against Miami (FL). The meet is slated to start at 4 p.m.

Then on the women's side on Saturday, Oct. 19 the Tigers will travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia to compete against JMU at 2 p.m.

Towson's first home meet is Saturday, Oct. 26 versus Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foe William & Mary. For all home meets, diving will begin at 10 a.m. and swimming will start at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 2 the Retrievers from UMBC will compete at Burdick.

Wrapping up the fall semester, the Tigers will compete in the annual Bucknell Invitational on Dec. 6-8. Each event will begin with the preliminaries at 10 a.m. and the finals beginning at 6 p.m.

"Having the Bucknell Invitational after Thanksgiving is a little different, but we're excited that it allows us to take a little more time getting into our heavier training in the fall, said Shrum." "Our meet schedule will prepare us really well for conferences."

After winter break Towson is on the road at Drexel (Jan. 18) and Loyola on Jan. 22.

The last home meet for the Tigers will also serve as the senior meet on Friday, Jan. 24 versus Delaware.

In early February, the divers will compete in the Duke Dog Invitational hosted by JMU Feb. 8-9.

The CAA Championships will be held on Feb. 19-22 at the Christianburg Aquatic Center in Christianburg, Va.

Admission to Towson swimming and diving home meets is free of charge.
