  • With rookie defensive specialist Asia Goins on the service line, the Tigers ripped off eight straight points for a 21-5 advantage. For the first time in the second set, NJIT strung together points, trimming Towson's lead down to 24-11 before a Grassini killed ended the set for Towson.
  • Set three was a different story and had two ties and three lead changes. NJIT went out to a 5-1 lead, helped by several Towson errors. A 5-1 Towson spurt tied the set at 6-6 with Finckel scoring an ace and a kill in the stretch. Towson trailed only once more in the match, 7-6, but came alive to build a 16-10 lead.
