TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team remains as a top-10 football program in FCS as the national polls were released on Monday.
This is the fourth straight week where Towson has been placed in the top-10 of the national polls.
The Tigers came in at No. 10 in the STATS FCS Top-25 and No. 10 in the America Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll. Towson was at No. 5 in each poll last week and at No. 8 the previous two sessions.
Towson stands at 3-1 overall, falling in an overtime thriller to Villanova this past weekend. Villanova is now at No. 8 in the STATS Poll. The Tigers currently hold a pair of road victories over ranked opponents having defeated Maine, currently at No. 12 in the STATS Top-25, and The Citadel, now at No. 25 in the STATS Top-25.
In total, six Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) programs are ranked in both polls. Along with Towson and Villanova, James Madison, Maine, Delaware and Elon are also in both national rankings.
The Tigers will challenge the University of Florida on Saturday, Sept. 28
th at 4 p.m. in Gainesville. Florida is 4-0 overall and comes in at No. 9 in the
Associated Press FBS rankings.
