TOWSON, Md.
Lexi Littlefield scored her first goal of the season as the Towson University women's soccer team fell 2-1 against Bucknell Sunday afternoon at the Tiger Soccer Complex.
Towson (2-4-0) scored in the second half to tie the game after Bucknell (2-4-0) took an early 1-0 lead in the first half.
It was late in the second half that Abby Gearhart of Bucknell scored the game winning goal.
How it Happened
- Bucknell's Gabby Bair took a shot in the opening minutes of the game, but Towson's goalkeeper Delaney Mitchell had the save.
- On the other side, Jenna Blank attempted a shot but it went high.
- The Bison's Bri Kropinack scored for Bucknell from the top of the box to give them the 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the game.
- Towson's Nikki Logan took back-to-back shots after her first attempt went wide left and the other shot was blocked by the Bison defense.
- After a Towson corner kick Logan attempted to score again but Kaylee Donnelly had the save.
- Bucknell took the last three shots all saved by goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko to end the period.
- The Towson offense came out on fire after the break. Littlefield attempted a goal 44 seconds into the half, which was blocked by the Bison defense.
- At the 48 minute mark, Logan took a shot but Donnelly had the save.
- Bucknell got the ball back and Chloe Christakos attempted a shot but it went wide left.
- The Tiger offense would attempt two more shots all within a minute of each other. Logan's shot went wide left and Olivia Ramirez's shot was saved by Donnelly.
- Christiana Davey and Camryn Anderson would then attempt to score, but Davey's shot was saved and Anderson's shot was high.
- Lilly Courts attempted a shot for Bucknell but the Tiger defense blocked it.
- After a corner kick from the Tigers Monica Scaglione, Littlefield scored with a header and tied the game up at a one apiece at the 62 minute mark.
- Rylee Donaldson took a shot for the Bison and Pazdzioko had the save.
- Jenna Blank tried to break the tie at the 74 minute mark but Donnelly had the save.
- Then at the 83 minute mark, Gearhart received a pass from Donaldson to score the game winning goal for the Bison.
Behind the Numbers
- The Tigers out-shot the Bison 13-9.
- Pazdziorko had a season-high four saves for the Tigers.
- Both teams had seven shots on goal.
- Towson took nine corners while Bucknell took four.
