Women's Swimming & Diving Ready to Take on Drexel

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's swimming and diving teams are back in action taking on conference foe Drexel Saturday, Jan. 19 in Philadelphia.

The meet is scheduled to begin at noon inside Drexel Pool.

Swimming Spotlight
Before each meet, the swimming and diving program will introduce us to someone in the senior class who will share highlights and their expectations of the season. This meet we introduce you to the defending Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) 200-yard butterfly champion, Megan Cowan. The communications major is from Bel Air, Maryland and is ready to be back in action after a small break.

"The team is really excited to travel to Drexel and get a chance to race in our conference," said Cowan.

"While we had a mini break from meets this season, we've been crushing practices and are excited to see the difference it's made."

The depth on the team this year is unmatched and Cowan in particular is excited for what the Tigers have to offer.

"I'm really looking forward to the last couple meets this season with my team," said Cowan. "There's a lot of talent and depth this year and everyone has been working really hard so I'm excited to see what we can do!"

Cowan's overall goal for the rest of the season is to have as much fun as possible with my team.

"For this team, our main goal is to show everyone how hard we've been working and be in the running for the CAA champ title."

A fun insight about Megan Cowan is her lucky socks make her feel like she will have some great swims (so if you see her make sure she has them).  The fun thing about the Towson swimming team is they are a family and all root for each other. The team as a whole feeds off that energy.

"When it comes to what gets me really motivated, it's my team," said Cowan. "Nothing beats the feeling of hearing them all cheering for you and knowing they all believe in you before you start a race."
