TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team travels to Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 25 to compete against East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) opponent North Carolina State.
The meet is slated to begin at 4 p.m. inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.

Last Time Out
The Tigers had the highest score in home opener history after finishing first in a quad meet against William & Mary, West Chester and Cornell last Friday, Jan. 17.
After a running score of 48.600 (vault), 48.650 (bars), 48.700 (beam) and 48.7555 (floor) they finished with an overall score of 194.725.
Towson had three Tigers tie with a 9.750 on vault.
On bars,
Tess Zientek finished with a season high 9.825 coming in first place.
Ally Wesoly tied for second on beam scoring a 9.800.
Melissa Temkov finished first on floor with a 9.800 score.
Lauren Bolen came in second place in the all-around scoring 38.900 after finishing with scores of 9.700 (vault), 9.700 (bars), 9.725 (beam) and 9.775 (floor).
Scouting NC State
The Wolfpack open their home opener with Towson. On Jan. 17, the Wolfpack competed in a quad-meet at Kentucky with North Carolina and Lindenwood, recording a score of 194.245 placing third.
Sophomore Meredith Robinson recorded a first-place finish and career-high on bars with a 9.875 while junior Lauren Kent notched a 9.825, tying for second-place. Overall, NC State posted a 48.775 in the event.
On beam, the Wolfpack recorded a 48.250 before moving on to floor, in which the team scored a 48.775.
NC State's final rotation was vault, in which freshman Emily Shepard was part of a three-way tie for first place, recording a 9.875. The team's score in vault was 48.625.
Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
- For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
- Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
- Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations.
- Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
