PHILADELPHIA – In the first road trip since early March, the Towson University women's basketball team drove up 95 to Philadelphia to face La Salle and came out on top 95-66.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening moments of the game saw the road team take a 5-0 lead before La Salle scored in the third minute of play. The Explorers hung around until Towson went on a 6-0 run taking a 15-6 lead with 3:29 to go in the quarter.
- As the home team tried to catch up in the score, free throws from Skye Williams and two layups from Allie Kubek pushed the Tigers to a 23-13 lead in the last 60 seconds of the period.
- A Towson scoring skid in the second quarter gave La Salle room to catch up, cutting the lead to 10 points after the Tigers had led by 17.
- Entering the locker room at half, Towson was up 12 points after a Kionna Jeter jumper with five seconds to go in the second.
- In the start of the second half, the Explorers didn't score until two minutes in, as the Tigers went back up 48-32.
- With 7:08 on the clock in the third, the home team trailed by 13 points and that was the closest they would get to tying the game up or taking the lead.
- There were several moments in the stretch where La Salle scored quickly and could gain momentum, but that was not the case as the Tigers piled it on scoring quickly afterwards.
BEYOND THE BOX
- Today's performance with five players in double figures hasn't happened since a win over Hofstra in the 2018-19 season.
- The last time two or more players notched a double-double was last season at Hofstra.
- Kionna Jeter's 16 points are her 10th straight game, dating back to last season, with double-digit scoring.
- Shavonne Smith's 19 points are a career-high, she previously set a career best of 16 and this is her second straight game with 10 or more points.
- Skye Williams recorded her first career game with double figures, also notching a career high with 17 points against the Explorers.
- It was a very strong career night for rookie Allie Kubek with her first collegiate double-double and first night scoring in double figures.
- Aleah Nelson's 10 assists are a career-best for the sophomore and today was her first collegiate double-double as well.
- Today's win over La Salle is the second straight for the Tigers over the Explorers in the series and the second in a row where Towson scored 90 or more over La Salle.
