ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Friday night the Towson University tennis team dropped its match to Fairleigh Dickinson at Navy, falling 5-2.
The Tigers earned the doubles point and got one win in singles but dropped four straight singles matches as the Knights came rallying back. Towson moves to 1-5 on the season and has a week of before traveling to face Princeton and Villanova next weekend.
How it Happened
- Towson dropped its first doubles match, a 6-4 final and started 0-1 in doubles play.
- The team of Alexa Martinez and Themis Haliou rallied to defeat their doubles opponents 7-5.Â
- Amelia Lawson and Phoebe Collins did the same, clinching the doubles point after the dropped set at the No. 3 slot.Â
- Entering singles action the Knights won fives straight sets taking a 4-1 lead.Â
- Lawson won the solo match in singles with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 victory.

"Tonight we made an incredible comeback from a 5-2 deficit in doubles, the doubles point gave us some good energy but unfortunately we couldn't sustain it," head coach

Amelia Lawson had a strong singles win a No. 3 and Sara Pospischill fell just short in her third set breaker at No. 6 singles tonight they had the strongest singles performances by far."
