TOWSON, Md. – Madison Wilson had a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to help the Towson University softball defeat Stony Brook 3-2 to conclude the DeMarini Tiger Clash Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (9-7) fell to Iona 5-1 in the first game of the doubleheader inside the Towson Softball Stadium.
How it Happened- Game 1
- Iona took an early lead scoring one run in the second inning
- Iona had a home run in the top of the fourth allowing the Gaels to score two runs
- Towson responded with a double by Madison Wilson and a run by Julia Smith-Harrington in the bottom of the fourth
- Iona solidified their win by scoring two more runs in the top of the fifth bringing the score to 5-1
How it Happened- Game 2
- Stony Brook took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the third after Melissa Rahrich homered.
- The Tigers came back swinging in the bottom of the fifth starting with a single to center field by Jessica Swistock. Another single by Gracyn Houmis advanced all the runners who were on base including Katie Capizzi who scored the Tigers first run. The tying run came after a single by Lauren Ringhiser scored Lauren Civetti.
- After having runners on second and third, Wilson's sacrifice fly won the game for the Tigers.

The Tigers will compete at home on Friday March 13 at 3 p.m. against Morgan State University in the first game of the Tiger Invitational. The other team in the tournament is Saint Francis University.
