Holland, Maryland Native and High Point Transfer, Joins Towson Men's Basketball

TOWSON, Md. -- The Towson University men's basketball team has added a second transfer to its program in Maryland native, Curtis Holland II, a 6 foot, 2 inch, 222 pound guard.
 
A two-time Washington Post All-Metro honorable mention and All-Maryland Second Team selection out of Southern High School in Churchton where he played for coach Will Maynard, Holland joins Towson after playing for two years at High Point University.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Curtis into our program," Towson head coach Pat Skerry said. "He has played very well the past two seasons at High Point under Tubby Smith, and we are excited for him to return close to his family. Curtis has an innate ability to score the basketball. He is a very good shooter and a scoring threat every time he touches the ball. We look forward to him impacting our program."
 
Holland, who was an All-Anne Arundel County First Team selection, will be eligible to play during the 2021-22 season with two years of eligibility remaining. He was also a Powerade All-American while playing AAU basketball for the District Basketball Club.
 
Holland averaged 12.7 points last season for High Point. In addition to shooting 39.1 percent from three-point distance, Holland scored in double figures 10 times and started 15 games. He scored a scored career high 25 points against Belmont Abbey. He made six of his 25 3-pointers in the game against Belmont Abbey. Holland missed the final 17 games last season due to an injury.
 
As a freshman, Holland played in 24 games and started 19 contests. He averaged 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. In his first collegiate start, Holland scored 18 points and made five 3-pointers against UMBC.
 
The 2020-21 Towson schedule will be released at a later date.
