TOWSON, Md. – Kionna Jeter scored a game-high 26 points and
Aleah Nelson added a career-high 22 points with seven assists.as the Towson women's basketball team defeated Hofstra, 92-64, on Sunday afternoon at SECU Arena in
Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play to complete a weekend sweep. The Tigers beat the Pride, 65-60, on Saturday.
Shavonne Smith rebounded from season-low four-point effort by scoring 18 points, on 6-of-9 shooting, and had a team-best six rebounds. Smith has scored in double figures in eight of the 10 games this season for the Tigers (7-3, 2-1 CAA)

The Tigers hit 14 3-pointer FG's Sunday, the most in program history. Nelson made six from long range, including four in the first quarter, while Smith (4) and Jeter (3) also hit multiple shots from behind the arc. The previous record was 12, all occurring in 2015.
Towson took a 13-4 lead after four minutes of action. Nelson nailed a pair of 3-point jumpers during the run, while Smith added five points. After Hofstra narrowed the lead to 15-8, Towson went on a 13-3 run in the final three minutes to end the quarter. Nelson hit two more from long distance, including one to beat the buzzer to end the stanza giving Towson a 28-11 advantage. She finished the quarter with 14 points.
Jeter caught fire in the second quarter, scoring seven points in the first two minutes, giving Towson a 35-11 advantage. Jeter later added a 3-pointer and a steal and a breakaway layup to help Towson take a 48-23 advantage into the locker room. Jeter (17 points), Nelson (14) and Smith (9) combined for 40.
Towson out-scored the Pride 44-41 in the second half.
JaKayla Brown scored 15 points for Hofstra.
During the weekend sweep, Jeter scored 50 points, while Nelson had 40 points and handed out 14 assists.

Zach Kancher led the team in her absence. Richardson and her husband, Larry, surprised the Tigers by announcing the starting lineups prior to the game via Zoom.
