Raleigh, N.C. – Allie Kubek scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Towson women's basketball team to its third consecutive win of the 2021-22 season over Wofford, 64-48. Sunday night's victory is the team's second of the WNIT Preseason Classic.
Aleah Nelson (13) and Tarriyonna Gary (11) also joined Kubek in double-digits while Nelson also added seven assists and nine rebounds. Ryann Evans led the team off the glass, with 11 boards.

How it Happened
- Wofford took an early 5-1 lead with a layup and 3-pointer. Towson gained the advantage in the fifth minute of play, with a 3-pointer from Anissa Rivera. Gary hit one from deep on the next possession and Rivera added another less than a minute later to take the quick 14-9 lead.
- The Tigers ended the opening period up by eight points, 22-14.
- The Terriers rallied in the second, putting the contest within two points three times and taking the one-point lead in the third minute. Wofford's advantage didn't last long though, as the Towson defense went on to hold the opponent to 4-of-13 from the field and 0-of-3 from deep.
- Just before half, Kubek got a great look from Skye Williams to put her team back on top, 31-29. The sophomore led both benches at halftime, shooting 5-for-6 from the field for 12 points.
- Kubek continued to dominate in the paint with three early field goals to start the third. Gary also added her second 3-pointer of the day as the Tigers went on a 10-point run to go up, 40-30. Nelson also cracked double-digits with her second 3-pointer of the game to get her to 13 points.
- The Tigers went into the final quarter with the eight-point edge. Kubek had her best quarter of the contest in the third period collecting nine points, two boards, a block and a steal.
- The black & gold took its biggest lead of the contest, 4:49 into the fourth with a 16-point advantage. Towson held Wofford to just eight points in the final quarter.
- Gary led her team in the final period to help solidify the 16-point victory, going 2-for-4 from the field while adding one from deep for five points.
Inside the Numbers
- Sunday's contest marks the first all-time meeting between Towson and Wofford. The Tigers now own the upper hand with a 1-0 edge.
- The 3-0 start is the best of head coach Diane Richardson's career. She went 2-0 during the 2020-21 season, defeating East Carolina (89-81) and La Salle (95-66) with a canceled contest in between.
- Kubek set career-bests in two other categories with three blocks and 10 field goals.
- With half of the team's assists, Nelson has now led the team in all three of the contests and totaled 24 helpers.
- Sunday's game also marks her third game in double-figure scoring for both Nelson and Gary.
- Towson held Wofford to 0-of-7 from beyond the arc over the third and fourth quarters. The Terriers shot just 25 percent (4-of-16) from 3-point range throughout the entire game. The Tigers' defense also totaled seven blocks and six steals.

Towson play its final game of the Preseason WNIT Classic against host No. 5 NC State on Monday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. The contest will be held at the James T. Valvano Arena at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum and streamed on ACC Extra.
