GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Towson Women's Golf team completed their fall season with a top-five finish in the Grandover Fall Classic hosted by UNC Greensboro.
 
The Tigers (309-303-318) finished in fourth place out of a 12-team field with a score of 66-over 930. The team had 26 birdies in the tournament. This is the second time in the fall season that the team has finished in the top-five. The last time was at the Pirate Collegiate Classic hosted by East Carolina where the black and gold finished second.
 
Tereza Melecka of East Tennessee State won the tournament shooting 2-under 214.
 
Sophomore Faith McIlvain (72-75-79) maintained the top spot within the team with a score of 10-over 226. She finished eighth overall and was the only Tiger in the top-10 on the leaderboard. McIlvain had seven birdies.
 
Next up for the black and gold was Jordan Cornelius (81-75-79). Her score of 19-over 235 put her tied for 18th. The senior had three birdies in the tournament.
 
Finishing tied for 29th, Odette Font Garcia (79-77-82) was in the third spot for Towson. She had the most birdies on the team with 9. She had four in the first round, three in the second, and two in the third.
 
With a score of 25-over 241, Julia Calomiris (77-85-79)  moved up four places on the leaderboard to finish tied for 34th.
 
Not too far behind Calomiris was Madison Barber (85-76-81) who finished tied for 37th. Barber had four birdies.
 
In her first tournament of the fall season, Emma Cox (87-92-91) competed as an individual and was 67th with a score of 54-over 270. She had two birdies in the tournament and they both occurred on the back nine in the first and final rounds.
 
The Tigers have had an excellent season with new career bests, new school records, and several individual finishes within the top-20 or better. 
 
Head coach Shannon Briggs is looking forward to using the momentum and positive takeaways from the fall season to prepare for an even better season in the spring.
