C&R Pub to Host Volleyball Watch Party

TOWSON, Md. – With the Towson University women's volleyball program set to make its third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, thanks to three-straight CAA Championships, local eatery C&R Pub is hosting a Watch Party for the opening round.

Towson (26-4) and No. 15 Penn State (20-10) meet for a second time in the last three years during the NCAA Tournament. First serve is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN+ with Jason Earle and Amanda Silay on the call.

One of Towson's restaurant partners, C&R Pub, located at 1 West Pennsylvania Avenue, Towson, MD 21204, will have food and drink specials during the match. Happy Hour at C&R Pub is set to begin at 3 p.m.

The Tigers earned their third-straight berth to the NCAA Tournament, and fourth overall, following a thrilling reverse sweep of second-seeded Elon in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship, falling behind 2-0 in the match before ripping off three straight sets for the win.

This marks the first time a team has threepeated since the early-to-mid 1990s when George Mason won five straight titles. Towson is the first CAA team in the rally scoring era to win three titles in a row, claiming the 2019, 2020 and 2021 crowns. Towson won the 2020 title at home in April 2021 as the season was shifted to the spring. Towson is the first team in CAA history to win two titles in the same calendar year.
