TOWSON, Md. – Earning a trio of double-digit scoring games in six days, Jason Gibson was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week, announced on Monday.
 
Gibson earns his second CAA weekly honor in his career, having a CAA Rookie of the Week selection back on Jan. 27, 2020.  This is Towson's second CAA Player of the Week honor this season, with Cam Holden earning the same award on Nov. 29.
 
The junior from Severna Park, Maryland helped Towson to a 2-1 week, including big road victories over Kent State and Ohio State.  The Tigers also put up a strong performance against No. 21 Ohio State, leading most of the first half and narrowly falling late.
 
In the three games, Gibson shot 59.4% from the field, including 53.6% from three-point range, to average 18 points a contest.  He earned double digit scoring in all three games, including a career-high 24 points at Coppin State, tying a school record with eight three-point field goals in the contest.  This comes after he led Towson with 19 points, going 7-for-11 from the field, at Ohio State on Wednesday.
 
So far this season, Gibson is averaging 11.3 points per game, shooting 43.5% from three-point range.
