NEWARK, Del. – Despite double-digit efforts from Kionna Jeter and Aleah Nelson, the Towson women's basketball team fell to Delaware on Saturday afternoon, 80-54, in the Bob Carpenter Center.
The Tigers kept it tight through the first half, going into the locker room only trailing by five points. The contest was tied six times and saw three lead changes. The Blue Hens came out hot in the second half, combining for 47 points to steal the victory.
Jeter scored a team-high 17 points while Nelson added 14 points. Allie Kubek followed with six points and added a team-best eight rebounds.
For the Blue Hens, Jasmine Dickey registered game-highs with 29 points and 18 boards. Ty Battle also added 10 points and 15 rebounds.

- Nelson has topped the Tigers in assists 16 of 17 contests this season. The sophomore from Baltimore is averaging 6.5 assists per contest.
- Nelson has scored in double digits in 16 of 18 games this season. The sophomore guard has also dropped 15 or more points seven times.
- As a Tiger, Jeter has scored in double figures 71 times in 79 career games.
How it Happened:
- LaKaitlin Wright opened up scoring with a layup followed by Jeter's first 3-point field goal of the day to tie the score at five.
- Kubek started a nine-point run for the Tigers with a 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter to take the 18-15 lead. The Blue Hens answered with a 3-point field goal of their own to the end the quarter knotted at 18.
- Delaware netted four points out of the gate to take the 22-18 edge in the second quarter.
- With 3:41 left in the second, Jeter hit another 3-pointer to tie the score, again, at 26 points. Delaware answered with five points and Dickey ended the half with a jumper to take the lead into the locker room.
- Shavonne Smith started off the second quarter with a layup off a steal to put the score within three-points.
- Delaware went on a nine-point run with just over 2:00 to go in the third quarter to take the 16-point advantage.
- Jeter had two scores to end the period and cut the lead by five.
- The Blue Hens kept it rolling into the fourth quarter, netting 13 consecutive points. They ended the contest with a game-high 25 points in the fourth and held the Tigers to just 13.
