TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's track and field team will compete Saturday, February 6 at the Brant Tolsma Invitational, hosted by Liberty. The meet will take place in Lynchburg, Virginia inside the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
About the Meet
Brant Tolsma was Liberty's head track & field/cross country coach for 34 years, retiring at the end of the 2020 season. He led the Flames to 116 conference championships and was a 77-time conference coach of the year.
Other teams competing include Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Charlotte, Delaware State, East Carolina, High Point, Liberty, Norfolk State, Northern Colorado, Radford, VCU and Wake Forest.

The Tigers added 19 freshmen to the roster during the off season.
Last Time Out
Hayley Horvath set a new school record in the pole vault at the Liberty Elite Invitational. She cleared 4.13m (13'6.5") tying her for third overall at the invitational. She currently stands at number 13 in the NCAA.
The rest of the Tigers competed at the VMI Team Challenge. Crystal Johnson won the 60m dash with a time of 7.60. Adia Cavalier finished first on the triple jump, jumping 12.14m (39'10"), and Georgia Coleman won the shot put with a personal-best mark of 13.86m (45'5.75").
Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
Towson was on track to have its 8th consecutive year of over 10,000 hours of community service in 2019-20 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down all activity. Towson finished with 7,527 hours last year, good for third in the NCAA Teamworks Helper Helper competition.
Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition. Towson also won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
