WASHINGTON, D.C. – Huge moments highlighted the afternoon for the Towson University gymnastics team as they finished with a score of 195.050 in a dual meet with George Washington.
The Colonials finished with a score of 195.675 inside the Charles E. Smith Center.
The Tigers had running scores of 48.375 on vault, 48.600 on bars, 49.050 on beam and 49.025 on floor to finish with first place finishes in every event.
How it Happened
- The Tigers opened the meet on bars with Tess Zientek scoring a season-high 9.8750 coming in first. Her score is also a top-ten Towson score.
- Next event was vault and Lauren Bolen and Camille Vitoff tied for first scoring a 9.875. Jenna Weitz finished with a score of 9.825.
- Third rotation for the Tigers was floor and the Tigers saw a four way tie for first place with three of the gymnasts being from Towson. Nikki Borkowski, Amy Stewart and Paige Casper all finished with a score of 9.825. Emerson Hurst scored a season-high 9.8.
- On the last rotation the Tigers saw Hurst score a new career-high score of 9.975 after receiving her first 10 from one of the judges.
- Bolen won the all-around with a new season-high score of 39.200.
