INDIANAPOLIS – Zane Martin will look to showcase his talent on the national stage, competing with the Colonial/NEC team in the 2021 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship, which begins today.
 
This tournament combines players from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 for the third-annual event in Indianapolis.  The event is closed to the public.
 
Each team has four players and are connected via leagues.  Martin is part of the Colonial Athletic Association (Colonial)/Northeast Conference (NEC) team.  He will team up with Desure Buie of Hofstra, Raiquan Clark of LIU and Keith Braxton of Saint Francis (Pa.).  The Colonial/NEC squad is in Pool B.
 
This is a 3-on-3 event as the teams play through Sunday.  Pool play is on Friday and Saturday, setting up Sunday for championship games.  Pool play and the play-in/quarterfinal round games will be streamed on Twitter with the semifinal and championship games being on ESPN2.
 
Martin is Towson's 28^th player to earn over 1,000 points with the program, being a two-time All-CAA guard.  This past year, Martin ranked in the top-10 in the Colonial in several categories, including fifth in scoring (16.5 ppg), sixth in assists (3.5 apg) and 10^th in assist/turnover ratio (1.4).
 
The winning team in each game of pool play and in the knockout stage will get $1,000.  A quarterfinal win gets $5,000, a semifinal victory earned $10,000 while the champion gets $50,000.
