MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Finishing with the highest post season score in school history, the Towson University gymnastics team scored a 195.025 in the Friday afternoon session at Regionals in West Virginia.
Inside the West Virginia University Coliseum, the Tigers earned running scores of 48.725 on vault, 48.775 on bars, 48.825 on beam and a 48.700 on floor.
University of California, Berkeley scored a 197.725, Ohio State scored a 196.525, and Brigham Young scored a 196.350. The top two teams from each session advance to the semi-final rounds.
The Tigers saw four gymnasts finish in the top ten.
How it Happened
- Lauren Bolen led the way for the Tigers on vault scoring a 9.825, tying for eighth place.
- Grace Vaillancourt led the way on bars scoring a 9.8 tying for 14th.
- Emerson Hurst scored a 9.825 on beam, tying for seventh place.
- Amy Stewart scored a 9.8 on floor tying for 15th.
- Bolen scored a 39.000 in the all-around and Camille Vitoff scored a 38.900.
