TOWSON, Md. – Towson University guard
Aaron Grzymkowski has earned another academic award, being honored as a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Division I Football Team selection, announced on Thursday.
Grzymkowski was selected as a CoSIDA All-District® First Team member from District 2, which encompasses all Division I players, FCS and FBS, from Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. All-District teams are voted on by CoSIDA members from schools in the district. This year, CoSIDA used career statistics instead of season statistics during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is the third straight academic year where a Towson football player has been recognized on the CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams. Tom Flacco earned the award in 2019 while each Grant Udinski and Zane Ventimiglia were honor in 2018.
Grzymkowski earned his undergraduate degree with a 3.671 grade point average (GPA) and is currently enrolled in graduate school with a 4.0 GPA in applied information technology.
Earlier in the academic year, Grzymkowski was selected a semifinalist for the 2020 William V. Campbell Trophy® by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame. He has earned several academic honors in his career, including being a multiple-time member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
On the field, Grzymkowski is an All-CAA offensive lineman, being 2019 All-CAA Second Team and 2018 All-CAA Third Team, helping Towson win seven games in each of the last two seasons. He has played in 33 games in his Towson career, being a starter the last two for an offense that averaged over 30 points per game those seasons.
This achievement also nominates Grzymkowski for CoSIDA Academic All-America®, which will be voted on from June 22-29. All CoSIDA members across the country vote for this award.
