2021-22 Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule Announced

RICHMOND, Va. -- With the 2021-22 academic year just around the corner, the Towson University women's basketball program and the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) have released the Tigers' league schedule for the upcoming season.

The 2021-22 CAA women's basketball schedule, announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office, features blocks of games on Fridays and Sundays, beginning at the end of December. This season, the CAA returns to a traditional travel partner format; Towson's travel partner will be James Madison University, accounting for single game weekends when those teams meet.

Game times for the 18-game schedule will be announced at a later time.

Towson, which won the 2018-19 CAA Championship, kicks off the league schedule with back-to-back road games, bridging the new year. The Tigers head to Philadelphia for a showdown with the reigning champion Drexel University Dragons on Dec. 31, followed by a Jan. 2 game at the University of Delaware.

The second weekend of action sees the Tigers at home at SECU Arena, hosting Elon University on Jan. 7, with a Jan. 9 game against the College of William & Mary. Towson has a bye the following Friday before hosting James Madison University on Jan. 16 for a heavyweight battle at SECU Arena.

A southern road swing awaits Towson the week after, opening with a Jan. 21 clash at the College of Charleston before a trip to UNCW on Jan. 23.

After taking on the southern-most teams, Towson hosts the league's most northern programs, leading with Northeastern University on Jan. 28 before taking on Hofstra University on Jan. 30.

Early February sends the Tigers on another southern swing, first stopping at William & Mary on Feb. 4 before a trip to the Piedmont of North Carolina on Feb. 6 to take on Elon.

Towson has a second Friday bye before taking on JMU once again, this time in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Feb. 13.

The Tigers' second-to-last homestand welcomes UNCW to town on Feb. 18 before a showdown with Charleston on Feb. 20. The following weekend, Towson heads to Hofstra on Feb. 25 before a return trip to Northeastern on Feb. 27.

In the final weekend of the 2021-22 regular season, the Tigers host Delaware on March 3 before bookending the season with Drexel on March 5.

The 2022 CAA Women's Basketball Championship presented by Primis is scheduled for March 9-12 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center at JMU.

Tickets for the 2021-22 season will be announced on TowsonTigers.com when they become available.
