  • Drexel– 13-2 (5-0 CAA)

How it Happened

  • Drexel got out to an early 8-3 lead to open the game. Gary got Towson on the board though, with her first three pointer of the day. The sophomore followed up with another one from deep and Nelson cashed in on a three-point play to put the score within three points, 12-9.
  • From there the Tigers picked it up to go on an 8-0 run while holding the Dragons scoreless. The team also forced three turnovers during the span. Drexel ended the first with just a slight 17-16 edge.
  • The Dragons came out looking for the rim in the second period, netting six unanswered points to take the 23-16 lead. Anissa Rivera ended the streak with a jumper to put the contest within five points. The Tigers went without a field goal for the final 6:00 of the period to give the opposition the 31-22 advantage going into halftime.
  • After little action to begin the third, Towson went on a six-point run to make the score 33-26. Drexel could not find the basket in the span.
  • The two programs traded possessions to open the final 10:00. The Tigers played tough defense, holding the Dragons 0-for-4 from the field in the middle of the fourth.
  • As time was winding down, Gary hit a jumper in the final 2:30 of play to force a Drexel timeout and put the game within three points.
  • Shortly after with 1:10 to go, Kubek hit one from deep to tie things up, 54-54. The play forced another Dragons' timeout.
  • Out of the stop, Drexel hit a field goal to go back up, 56-54. Keishana Washington was then fouled with 21.1 seconds remaining and made both free throws to extend the lead, 58-54.
  • The black & gold made three attempts at the basket before the clock expired but could not convert.
