The Towson University men's and women's swimming & diving programs will travel down the road to Loyola for the Thomas Murphy Invite from Friday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 30. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. each day, while finals are set to start at 6 p.m. each evening. The Tigers and Greyhounds will be joined by the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins University in the tri-meet at Mangione Pool.

The evening sessions of the meet will be streamed on ESPN+ each day. Live results will be available on the Meet Mobile app.

Where They Stand
The CSCAA issued its first top 25 rankings of the season in October, but neither Towson nor Loyola have received votes. John's Hopkins' men's team was ranked 5
th in the Division III rankings, while the women's team was ranked 7
th

 On the Road Again – Women
The Tigers are going on the road for the second time this season. Towson will also take a second trip to George Mason for the Patriot Invitational next month (Nov. 17-19). The squad will also visit Delaware (Jan. 28) to cap the regular season road schedule.

Janine Murphy finished in the top four spots in the 200 back in the team's last meet against William & Mary. Towson defeated the Tribe 163-131 last Saturday.

Road Trippin' – Men
Towson will make the squad's second road trip of the season this weekend. The men's program will also be returning to George Mason for the Patriot Invitational on Nov. 17-19 next month. In addition to the trip to Delaware, the men's will be visiting Navy for a dual meet on Jan. 7.

In the team's last meet against William & Mary,
Brian Benzing set two top 10 program times for the Tigers and set two CAA-best times on the season. His 48.01 in the 100 fly and 20.44 in the 50 free are pacing the CAA so far this season. Benzing was named the CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week following his performance.

Scouting the Greyhounds – Women
The Greyhounds enter this weekend's invitational 3-4 overall and 3-2 in Patriot League matchups. Against the only common opponent of Towson's, Loyola lost 166-128 to William & Mary at Mangione Pool. Sophomore Laura Latham won three events for the Greyhounds on Saturday: the 200 free,100 fly and the 200 IM.

Scouting the Blue Jays – Women
John's Hopkins enters the weekend 1-2 overall. All three meets have been against teams that the Tigers have met or will meet this season. The Blue Jays lost 189.5-71.5 to William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. on Oct. 15. They've also faced UMBC (W, 166-121) and Delaware (L, 227-64), who the Tigers will challenge during the 2022-23 season. Kristen Alicea-Jorgensen won the 50 free with a time of 24.23 and was a member of two second-place finishes in the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Scouting the Greyhounds – Men
Loyola's men's program is 6-1 so far this season and 4-1 in Patriot League meets. The Greyhounds have faced one common opponent of Towson's, William & Mary on Oct. 21. The Tribe defeated Loyola 219-68 at Mangione Pool in Baltimore. Michael Gozdan won two events for the Greyhounds in their last meet against Lafayette. Gozdan clocked in at 57.67 in the 100 breast and 2:08.92 in the 200 breast, to go along with finishing first in the 200 medley relay.

Scouting the Blue Jays – Men
The Blue Jays are 2-1 overall this season and have collected two wins over Division I opponents. They've defeated UMBC (176.5-110.5), William & Mary (151-111) and fell to Delaware 204-89. Senior Kyle Wu won two individual races in the Blue Jays' last meet against William & Mary, the 100 breast (55.77) and 100 free (46.20). He was also featured in a win in the 200 free relay and a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

Towson's women's program most recently defeated Loyola 179-120 on Jan. 19 of last season. The Tigers haven't lost to the Greyhounds in 15 matchups dating back to Feb. 1, 2003.
Parker Schulz recorded two individual wins (200 free, 200 back) to go with two relay victories on the day.

The Tigers' women's team last faced John's Hopkins on Oct. 15 of last year, defeating the Blue Jays 211-83 in a tri-meet at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md.

The Tigers' men's program dropped its most recent matchup against the Greyhounds 168-123 on Jan. 21 last season. Towson had previously been on a five-meet winning streak against Loyola dating back to Jan. 21, 2012. The meet featured individual wins from

Luke Gallagher (3-meter dive) and
Ajani Dorner (1-meter dive).
Evan Bota and Benzing were also part of the 200 medley relay win for the Tigers.
