TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's & women's swimming and diving programs completed day three of the Thomas Murphy Invitational Sunday evening at Mangione Pool in the Loyola Fitness and Aquatics Center.
The women's team finished second of three teams, with a total of 1,465.5 points. The men's program finished with a total of 1,315 points after three days, good for second place.

How it happened:
On the Women's Side
- Bridget Thomas started day three with a second-place finish in the 1650 free, stopping in at 16:57.67.
- Ally Frame finished first in the 200 back at 2:00.37, with Maddie Frick right behind in second at 2:01.01.
- Katie Nunez placed first in the 100 free with a time of 50.99. Ava Enriquez finished second just a quarter of a second behind Nunez. Victoria Dichak took sixth place at 52.51.
- Tiffany Matulis (2:21.10), Holly Greenleaf (2:21.35) and Britney Denny (2:21.65) took third, fourth and fifth in the 200 breast, respectively.
- The Tigers swept the podium in the 200 fly. Samantha Casolo (2:04.47), Laura Gaffney (2:05.18) and Denny (2:05.21) rounded out the top three. Hailey Ritter (2:05.58) finished fifth and Maddie Mince (2:06.78) finished sixth.
- In the 400 free relay, the team of Dichak, Enriquez, Mince and Nunez placed second at 3:27.20. Frame, Ritter, Janine Murphy and Thomas followed in fourth (3:32.48).
For the men:
- The lone men's swimmer in the 1650 free Dean Blakely finished second, clocking in at 16:05.83.
- Ian Hewett placed fifth in the 200 back with a time of 1:50.58. Reed Sells (1:52.07), Aiden Rooney (1:53.46) and Brendan Farrar (1:55.46) followed behind in final heat.
- The Tigers took second through fourth in the 100 free final, rounded out by Brian Benzing (44.75), Michael Fazio (44.92) and Daniel McLaughlin (46.69).
- Noah Diacumakos' time of 2:01.82 was good for fourth in the 200 back. Patrick Flint finished fifth at 2:05.64.
- McLaughlin, Fazio, Diacumakos and Brian Benzing placed second in the 400 free relay, clocking in at 2:59.53. David Walton, TJ Bearor, Flint and Trey Adkins followed in third with a time of 3:05.70.
Coach's Thoughts:
"We saw a lot of exciting things and I thought our seniors did a phenomenal job. We have multiple swimmers producing top 10 program times and had a relay team set a pool record this weekend. The best is yet to come for our programs."
Next Time Out:
The Tigers return home to Burdick Pool next Saturday to face off with UMBC. Diving starts at 11 a.m. with swimming to follow at 1 p.m.
