TOWSON, Md. – Three Towson University football players,
Jamal Gay, Ryan Kearney and
Robert Schwob, have been selected as members of the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
This is the fifth year in a row where at least one Towson football player has been recognized on the Academic All-District® teams:

To be eligible, nominees must be a starter or important reserve, must have at least a 3.5 grade point average in undergraduate and (if applicable) graduate studies and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically who has completed one full calendar year at his current institution.
All three will be eligible for CSC Academic All-America®, which will be voted on by CSC members next week.
Gay is in his first semester of grad school after earning his degree in interactive marketing with a 3.69 GPA. On the field, the senior linebacker from Beltsville, Maryland played in ten games, having 26 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
Kearney is also in his first year of grad school, graduating with a 3.81 GPA in environmental science. From Ellicott City, Maryland, the senior started all 11 games at linebacker, finishing second on the team with 72 tackles, adding four pass breakups.
Schwob graduated in Spring 2021 with a 3.56 GPA and stands with a 3.67 GPA through his first full year of graduate school. From Annapolis, Schwob was Towson's primary tight end plus played special teams, having five catches for 46 yards and a score.
