FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Towson University women's basketball team closed out the Fort Myers Tip-Off with a matchup against the DePaul Blue Demons. The Tigers (4-2) defeated the Blue Demons (4-3) 64-56 after holding DePaul to only nine points in the third quarter.
 
Quinzia Fulmore earned her second double-double of the season with 13 points and ten rebounds. Kylie Kornegay-Lucas had a team-high 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.

• The Tigers shot 40% or better from the field in three of the four quarters.
• Towson forced DePaul into 20 turnovers, which led to 15 points.

How It Happened vs DePaul:

• Both teams scored layups on their first possession, then DePaul took the lead after a three-pointer.
• The teams continued to trade baskets until Anissa Rivera hit a three to give Towson an 11-8 advantage.
• The Blue Demons made a jumper and a free throw to tie the score at 11 at the end of the first quarter.
• DePaul opened a four-point lead, but back-to-back buckets by Quinzia Fulmore and India Johnston tied the score.
• The Blue Demons went on a 5-0 run to take their biggest lead of the game.
• Towson countered with an 8-2 run to gain a 23-22 advantage with two minutes left in the second.
• DePaul hit a transition three to take back the lead, but Alexia Nelson made a layup with six seconds left to tie the score at 25 each going into halftime.
• The Blue Demons started the third quarter by making two baskets to regain the lead.
• Towson responded with a 7-0 run that included two jumpers by Kylie Kornegay-Lucas to take a 32-29 advantage.

• DePaul cut its deficit to nine, but Towson responded with two jumpers to earn a 13-point advantage.
• The Blue Demons brought the lead down to six after a couple of baskets.
• Free throws by Kornegay-Lucas and a jumper by Rivera brought the lead back up to ten.
• DePaul tried to make a comeback, but Fulmore made three consecutive baskets to maintain the lead.
• Towson was able to ice the game through free throws and win 64-58 to end the Fort Myers Tip-Off.

• This was Towson's first win against DePaul.
• The Tigers scored 12 bench points and held the Blue Demons to only four.
• Kylie Kornegay-Lucas extended her streak of scoring double-figures to six games.
• Kornegay-Lucas was named to the Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off All-Tournament Team after averaging 14.3 ppg, 6.6 rebs, 4.6 assists and 3.3 steals over three games.
