PIKESVILLE, Md. – The Towson women's tennis team earned its first victory of the 2022 season by defeating Johns Hopkins Saturday night, 7-0, at Coppermine Racquet & Fitness.
Towson earned the doubles point by sweeping all three matches with the teams of Themis Haliou and Sissi Axelsson (No. 1), Amelia Lawson and Lea Kosanovic (No. 2) and Jessica Assenmacher and Antonia Lawson (No. 3) setting the tone for the match.
Haliou (No. 2), Assenmacher (No. 3) and Elessa Jacobs (No. 6) clinched the match for the Tigers with straight set victories- dropping just three of 39 games.
Amelia Lawson (No. 1), Sarah Pospischill (No. 4) and Olivia Rothfeld (No. 5) also earned straight set wins.
