PIKESVILLE, Md. — The Towson University tennis team dropped a hard-fought match to Fairleigh Dickson, 4-3, on Saturday night at the Coppermine Racquet and Fitness Club.  

"Tonight was a really tough loss from the stand point that we lost another doubles point and the match 4-3," head coach Jamie Peterson said. "Unfortunately our singles didn't play well enough across the board to put us over the hump. However, the three points we won were all very solid tennis performances. The things we have been working on were clicking for those girls and it was fun to watch. We look forward to getting back to competing against a strong Navy team next Saturday."

Doubles   

The Tigers dropped a close double point to start of the match. The Knights won 6-3 on the final two courts to earn the point. The first court was tied at 5-5 before it was stopped.  

Singles   

Sissi Axelsson and Themis Haliou won in straight sets on courts two and five respectively, to give Towson points. Amelia Lawson also battled to win the super tiebreak on the first singles court.  

The effort was not enough however, as Fairleigh Dickson clinched wins on courts No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 to clinch the team win, 4-3.
