Shilling Named CAA Men’s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – After a career-best week, Towson University men's lacrosse attackman Luke Shilling has been selected as the CAA Co-Player of the Week. The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) made its announcement Monday afternoon.

Shilling, a fifth-year transfer from Johns Hopkins University, was named CAA Co-Player of the Week with Drexel University netminder Ross Blumenthal. Fairfield's Jack McKenna was tapped as the CAA Rookie of the Week.

The Baltimore native was highly efficient this week, scoring on seven of his eight total shots, including goals on all seven shots on goal to lead Towson to a 2-0 week over local rivals Loyola (11-8) and UMBC (11-10). Shilling had a career-best six points against UMBC, having a hand in half of Towson's 11 goals, including a career-best four goals on a four-of-five shooting day. Shilling logged the game-winner over UMBC with 4:04 to play in the game.

On Wednesday night, Shilling scored on all three of his shots, netting his first career hat trick while leading the Tigers to their first win at Ridley Athletic Complex since the 2016 campaign. It marked the first time in his career that Shilling was on the winning side against Loyola, while aiding Towson to its third win over the Greyhounds in the last four meetings.
