TOWSON, Md. – Baltimore's own and Dulaney High School graduate
Ryan Conway is coming back home, suiting up for the Towson University men's basketball team starting in the 2022-23 season.
Conway spent last year at Seton Hall, redshirting the season. He comes to Towson with four years of eligibility.
One of the top scorers in Maryland high school history, Conway formerly was a four-star prospect by ESPN.com out of Dulaney, earning a First Team All-Maryland selection and twice being
Baltimore Sun All-Metro. He averaged 21.5 points and 4.5 assists a game in his high school career.
He earned 27.3 points a game in his junior campaign, making headlines with a 55-point game against rival Hereford. Conway led Dulaney to the 2019 Maryland 4A regional championship, the program's first regional title in 42 years, scoring 30 points in that pivotal game.
"Ryan is a talented guard who can make plays for others and himself," said head coach
Pat Skerry. "He is a tireless worker, an excellent teammate and comes from a great family. He had an excellent career at Dulaney High School, playing for Coach Lochte's program as well as Team Melo, one of the top AAU programs in the country. I know Ryan is excited to work, join his new teammates and help us keep winning."
Conway is the younger brother of
Chris Conway, who is Towson men's basketball's director of student-athlete development, entering his second season. Ryan Conway joins a plethora of Maryland-natives on Towson next season, including
Jason Gibson,
Brandon Held,
Olugbemi Joseph,
Chase Paar and
Charles Thompson.
Towson earned its winningest Division I season and first-ever Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) regular season title in 2021-22, finishing 25-9 overall and 15-3 in the league with its first-ever trip to the National Invitation Tournament.
