TOWSON, Md. — Towson women's basketball alumna Nukiya Mayo has signed with Montbrison Feminines BC (LF2) to continue her professional career in France.

"I am so excited to be taking on this new adventure in Montbrison," Mayo said. "It is a great opportunity for me to play my second year in France and get to make a name for myself."

Montbrison finished in eighth place last season with a 10-12 overall mark.

In 2021-22, Mayo played her first campaign in France with l'AS Aulnoye Basket club. In 27 LF2 games she registered 10.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Mayo helped the team to a 13-9 overall record, a fourth-place finish in the league and a LF2 semifinals appearance.

Mayo began her pro career in Greece, playing for PAOK Thessaloniki. She finished her rookie season averaging 20.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She was also selected for multiple EuroBasketball.com All-Greek League Awards including Co-Newcomer of the Year, All-League second team, All-Defensive team and the All-Imports team.

At Towson, Mayo still holds several spots in the record books for women's hoops and in 2019 led the Tigers to their first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship. She was also the 2019 CAA Championship Most Outstanding Player, scoring 1,372 career points in the black and gold.
