TOWSON, Md. – Towson University graduate Dennis Tunstall will be returning to the professional ranks, signing with the Helios Suns in Slovenia for the 2022-23 season.
It will be the second straight stint for Tunstall in Slovenia, formerly playing for Zlatorog Lasko where he averaged a double-double a contest off 12.5 points and 10.2 rebounds a game. He has also played professionally in the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Tunstall was one of Towson's top defensive players during the
Pat Skerry era, earning CAA All-Defensive Team in each 2018-19 and 2019-20. He stands eighth in program history with 120 career blocks and fourth with 125 career games played. From 2016-20, Tunstall shot 60.1% from the field, compiling 464 points, 628 rebounds, 120 blocks and 78 steals.
The Helios Suns play in Domzale in central Slovenia. The team finished second in the regular season in the Slovenian Basketball League last season with a 15-3 record.
