SPARKS, Md. – Two Towson University alumni will have a chance to represent Team USA as former Tigers
Zach Goodrich and
Koby Smith have been invited to the U.S. Men's Training Camp in September.
Goodrich and Smith are two of 50 players invited to the camp, which will be held at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland from Sept. 23-25.
This camp is part of the selection process which will include a Fall Classic in October and another training camp later this year. Team USA will eventually select 23 players for the 2023 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in San Diego, set to be played from June 21-July 1.
Goodrich, a member of the Team USA Sixes roster, helped the U.S. to a silver medal in the 2022 World Games in July. A 2019 Towson graduate, the three-time All-American and 2019 USILA Lt. J.G. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Outstanding Midfielder plays for the Cannons in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), having six caused turnovers and eight ground balls in seven games at SSDM.
Smith will have his first look with Team USA after being the fifth overall draft pick in the PLL in 2022. Being honored as an All-American and First Team All-CAA player three years with the Tigers, the 2022 Towson graduate stands with six ground balls and three points in seven games with the Atlas this season.
Goodrich formerly played with Team USA in January 2020 for the Spring Premiere in Texas, where Towson trainer
Greg Penczek served on Team USA's training staff.
