Towson Women’s Basketball Cruises Past Hampton 86-47 as Coach Harper Secures First CAA Victory

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team was victorious against Hampton on Sunday afternoon 86-47 to secure Laura Harper's first CAA win. The Tigers (7-7, 1-2 CAA) held the Lady Pirates (5-8, 2-1 CAA) to four points in the second quarter.
 
Kylie Kornegay-Lucas registered her second double-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Quinzia Fulmore finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Skye Williams had 12 points.

  • Towson dominated the glass grabbing a season-high 49 rebounds.
  • The Tigers shared the ball effectively, racking up a season-best 20 assists.
  • Towson shot a season-best 51.7% from the field, including 71.4% in the fourth quarter.
  • The Tigers' defense held Hampton to 26.7% from the floor.
 
How It Happened vs Hampton:
  • Kylie Kornegay-Lucas scored Towson's first eight points, then Skye Williams hit a three to give Towson an 11-10 edge.
  • The Tigers closed out the first quarter with a 16-4 run with Quinzia Fulmore's layup giving Towson a 27-14 lead at the end of the first.
  • Towson continued to grow its lead with a 10-0 run to open the second quarter, highlighted by Anissa Rivera's three-pointer. 
  • The Tigers maintained a strong lead throughout the quarter, then Rivera hit two late baskets to give Towson a 45-18 lead heading into the locker room.
