Victoria Barrett was selected as the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week while defensive specialist
Sydney Stewart earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
This is Barrett's first player of the week honor this season and Stewart's first career player of the week honor.
The junior outside hitter totaled a team-high 32 kills, averaging 5.33 kills per set. Barrett finished with double-digit kills in each match as the Tigers went a perfect 2-0 this week, clinching Towson's fourth consecutive CAA Regular Season title. On Saturday, she had a team-best 16 kills with five digs, then followed up with 16 kills and eight digs.
The sophomore defensive specialist accumulated 40 digs this weekend, averaging 6.67 digs per set. On Saturday, the Elizabethtown Pa. native had 18 digs with three assists, then finished with a career-high 22 digs and four assists in title clinching match. She added three aces in route to two sweeps over Northeastern.
The Tigers will host the winner of Charleston/Stony Brook in the CAA semifinals on Friday Nov. 17th at 4 p.m. on FloVolleyball.
