ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team wrapped up the Navy Classic with a Sunday afternoon showdown against Quinnipiac. The Tigers (3-1) were victorious over the Bobcats (1-4) 75-65 to go 2-0 in the Navy Classic.
Kylie Kornegay-Lucas led the Tigers with 19 points, nine rebounds and two steals while
Patricia Anumgba had 19 points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Key Stats vs Quinnipiac:
- Towson made a season-high nine three-pointers on 40.9% shooting while the Bobacts went 4-of-20 (20%).
- The Tigers went 20-of-23 (87%) from the free throw line.
- Towson had eight steals compared to three for the Bobcats.
- Jackie Grisdale led Quinnipiac with 24 points, shooting 7-of-14 (50%) from the field.
How It Happened vs Quinnipiac:
- The first quarter started with both teams trading baskets with Quinnipiac taking an 8-6 edge.
- An Alina Sendar three-pointer and a Kylie Kornegay-Lucas layup gave Towson an 11-8 advantage.
- The Bobcats went on an 11-3 run to have a 19-13 lead, but the Tigers responded with a 4-0 run to cut the deficit to two heading into the second quarter.
- Quinzia Fulmore opened the second quarter with a three-point play after she was fouled on a layup to give Towson an one-point edge.
- The teams continued to go back-and-forth, tying the score three times before Quinnipiac went on a 7-2 run to take a 33-28 lead.
- Both teams traded late threes, but Patricia Anumgba finished the second quarter on a 4-0 run herself to trail 35-34 going into the locker room.
- The third quarter started with each team making a layup, before Sendar drained her third triple of the game to give Towson a 40-38 edge.

- The Tigers opened a double-digit lead after a 14-3 run led by Kornegay-Lucas's six points.
- Towson took a 63-52 lead into the fourth quarter after both teams traded baskets to close out the third quarter.
- The fourth quarter started with Quinnipiac cutting the deficit to single digits, but a 5-1 run pushed the lead to 68-55.
- After a mid-range jumper by the Bobcats, Aminata Diakite made a three-pointer to give Towson a 14-point lead, its largest of the game.
- Quinnipiac tried to spark a late comeback with a run, but Alexia Nelson's two free throws sealed a 75-65 victory.

- Kylie Kornegay-Lucas was named the Classic MVP with Patricia Anumgba being named to the All-Navy Classic Team.
- Towson finished 7-of-13 (53.8%) from the floor in both the second and third quarters.
