TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's lacrosse team is getting set for the upcoming campaign, announcing its schedule for the 2024 season.
The Tigers will play a 14-game regular season schedule, including seven home games at Johnny Unitas® Stadium and a full Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) slate. Towson is set to play five in-state opponents and a trio of games against 2023 NCAA Tournament participants.
In 2023, Towson earned five conference victories to tie for second place in the league and notch a trip to the CAA Tournament, including a home win over then-top-15 Delaware on Senior Day. The Tigers are set to return four 2023 All-CAA honorees, three 2023 CAA All-Rookie selections and five of their top six scorers from this past season.
Season and game ticket information will be announced at a later date.
Towson will have a pair of scrimmage days to begin the year, playing at Georgetown on Saturday, Jan. 20 and then hosting three teams on Saturday, Jan. 27, playing a total of two scrimmages that day.
The 2024 season begins with a revival of a Baltimore rivalry: the Tigers head to Homewood Field to challenge Johns Hopkins on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m.
The home opener at Johnny Unitas® Stadium is set for Saturday, Feb. 10
th at 4 p.m. vs. in-state foe Mount St. Mary's. This is part of the doubleheader with the women's lacrosse team, which plays Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m.
Towson will revive another in-state series, playing Navy, for the first time since 2015, on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 12 p.m.
The team's next two games are on the road, beginning with a game in Philadelphia at Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Feb. 24 at noon. The month closes out with a quick drive to Charles Street to take on Loyola on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
Towson is back home for the following two weekends with a pair of Saturday games at noon, hosting county rival UMBC on Mar. 2, then 2023 NCAA Tournament Semifinalist Virginia on Mar. 9.
CAA play begins on Saturday, Mar. 16 with a noon game at Drexel, then continues with another road game, at Fairfield, on Saturday, Mar. 23.
The Tigers come back to Towson for two league games against the CAA's two Long Island teams, starting with Stony Brook on Saturday, Mar. 30 at noon. The Mar. 30 game is also part of a doubleheader as women's lacrosse hosts Hofstra at 3 p.m. Next up,
Shawn Nadelen's squad hosts Hofstra on Saturday, Apr. 6 at noon.
On Saturday, Apr. 13 at noon, Towson plays at Hampton to continue CAA play.
The final regular season home game will be on Saturday, Apr. 20 at noon as the Tigers host Monmouth. Towson heads to Newark to play Delaware to wrap up CAA play on Friday, Apr. 26.
The CAA Tournament semifinal round will be on Thursday, May 2 with the title game being on Saturday, May 4. The host/location will be determined at a later date.
