TOWSON, Md. – With a couple of strong days in a row, including a conference victory,
Nick DeMaio has been honored as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.
DeMaio is the first Towson men's lacrosse player to be a CAA Offensive Player of the Week this season. DeMaio earns his first-ever league weekly award.
As a team this year, Towson has won two CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors, each by
Evan Long, and a trio of CAA Rookie of the Week awards, two by
Joaquin Villagomez and one by
Ryan Schrier.
The senior from San Diego, California began the week with a hat trick and an assist in Towson's Thursday night battle with No. 11/12 Denver. Two days later, the attack earned a seven-point day on two goals and five assists, also having a pair of caused turnovers and three ground balls in Towson's conference victory vs. Hampton. His seven points came just one shy of tying his career-high.
DeMaio and the Tigers head to New Jersey on Saturday, April 22 for a game at Monmouth at 2:30 p.m.
