TOWSON, Md. – Marcus Walker has joined the Towson University football team as the team's cornerbacks coach for the upcoming 2023 season.
 
Walker, a former Oklahoma standout and professional player in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL), comes to Towson having worked as a collegiate coach since 2015.
 
He arrives at Towson after spending the 2022 season as the cornerbacks coach at Louisiana Tech.  LaTech improved nearly 50 spots in FBS in each defensive passing yards allowed and defensive passing efficiency, having two all-league cornerbacks and helping with the #1-ranked recruiting class in Conference USA.
 
Walker spent two years as the cornerbacks coach at Stephen F. Austin, previously being at McNeese State, Henderson State and his alma mater of Oklahoma.  Walker graduated from Oklahoma in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.  He earned two Master's Degrees from Oklahoma, in human relations in 2014 and administrative leadership in 2017.
 
Walker's hiring completes the coaching staff for the first season under new head coach Pete Shinnick.
