TOWSON, Md. – Former Wofford forward Messiah Jones will join the Towson University men's basketball team for the 2023-24 campaign. The Chicago, Ill. native spent the last five seasons with the Terriers, helping Wofford to a SoCon Championship game appearance in 2020.
This past season, Jones appeared and started in all 33 games for the Terriers finishing third on the team with 323 points, while leading the team with 179 rebounds. He was 12
th in the SoCon in rebounding at 5.4 per game, helping Wofford to a SoCon Semifinals appearance.

Jones played in 93 games with 57 starts during his five years with the Terriers. He shot 63.0 percent from the floor, averaging 9.0 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. He had his best season as a Terrier last year, averaging 9.8 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game, shooting 57.2 percent from the floor in 22.3 minutes per game after coming back from a season ending injury in the 2021-22 season. Jones earned SoCon All-Freshman team honors in 2020.
The former three-star high school recruit played at Simeon High School, one of the top basketball schools in the country. He was the number 10 overall prospect in the state of Illinois and the number one forward in the state. He earned Second Team All-State honors and helped Simeon to the Class 4A state title game after winning a city championship as a junior. He played for Meanstreats and Caron Butler on the AAU circuit.
Jones will be the second player from Illinois joining the Tigers for 2023-24. Incoming freshman Mekhi Lowery will also suit up for the Tigers out of Oswego, Ill. and Oswego East High School.
Towson is coming off a 21-12 campaign that saw the Tigers reach the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Semifinals after back-to-back 20-win seasons for just the second time in program history. Head coach
