SAN DIEGO – Former Towson University team captain Frederick Lee continues to be a defensive presence in lacrosse, suiting up for Team New Zealand in the 2023 World Championship.
He will play defense and wear number 24 for New Zealand.
This is Lee's second appearance in the World Championship, having played for Team England in 2006 while an undergraduate at Towson. He played seven games that tournament in Canada, helping England to a fifth place finish.
Lee, who played for Towson from 2005-08 and was named a team captain as a senior, playing in 55 career games and grabbing 77 ground balls. He was part of two NCAA Tournament teams in 2005 and 2007, including the 2005 CAA Tournament champion.
New Zealand is part of Pool D along with Germany, Jamaica, Poland and Switzerland. The team's first game is set for tonight (June 22) at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT against Switzerland in San Diego.
