TOWSON, Md. – Towson University swimmer
Brian Benzing has concluded his final event of the USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
Benzing swam in the 50-meter butterfly on Wednesday, qualifying 24
th overall in preliminary heats with a 24.65 in the event. In the C final that evening, Benzing placed 19
th overall and third in his heat with a 24.77.
On Thursday, he qualified 11
th overall in the 50 breast, tied with one other, clocking in at 27.85. In the evening's finals session, he posted a time of 28.00 to take 13
th overall and fifth in the B final.
In preliminary heats of the 100 breast today, Benzing placed 30
th overall with a 1:02.40, narrowly missing the evening's finals session and qualification for the 2024 US Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, Ind. in June 2024.
