TOWSON, Md. – D'Ago Hunter has been recognized as a 2023 STATS Perform Preseason All-American, announced on Tuesday.
 
Hunter was placed on the Third Team as a punt returner.  This matches his honor from last year when was named a 2022 STATS Perform All-American Third Team, also at punt returner.
 
The graduate student from Culpeper, Virginia was Towson University's first All-American in football since 2018 last season.  The 2022 CAA Special Teams Player of the Year earned 1,207 all-purpose yards from 639 kickoff yards, 195 punt return yards, 262 rushing yards and 111 receiving yards, adding three special teams touchdowns of at least 74 yards each.
 
In 2022, Hunter was third in FCS in yards per punt return (16.2) and fourth in FCS in combined kick return yardage (834).
 
The football team begins camp on Thursday, Aug. 2 in preparation for the 2023 season, which begins at Maryland on Sept. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
