TOWSON, Md. – Former Towson men's basketball standout Nakye Sanders will continue his professional career after signing with SIG Strasbourg. Sanders will be entering his fourth season of professional basketball in 2023-24.
SIG Strasbourg competes in the French Betclic ELITE ProA League. Sanders previously played for Balikesir Buyuksehir Belediyespor in the Turkish TBL League where he averaged 14.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game while earning league player of the week honors twice.
Sanders has also played professionally for CD Povoa in Portugal that landed him Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese League Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Forward of the Year honors.
After transferring to Towson from Duquesne, Sanders was a two-year starter in the Towson frontcourt (2018-19 & 2019-20), shooting 50.3% during his Tiger career. He averaged 8.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest in 62 games played.
