Towson Men’s Basketball Signs Coppin State Transfer Nendah Tarke

TOWSON, Md. – Towson men's basketball head coach Pat Skerry announced the signing of former Coppin State guard Nendah Tarke for the 2023-24 season. Tarke had previously spent the last three seasons with the Eagles.

"We are very excited to add Nendah's defensive versatility as well as his ability to play downhill and create for himself and others. His perimeter skills have really developed playing under the legendary Juan Dixon and his successful game experience from playing at Coppin will benefit our program," Towson head coach Pat Skerry said of Tarke. "Nendah will be a great fit with the group we have on and off the court and I know he is excited to get to work."

Tarke, a three-time All-MEAC performer, busted onto the scene during the 2020-21 season being named MEAC Rookie of the Year, as well as earning MEAC All-Rookie Team and Third Team All-MEAC honors after averaging 9.9 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. The very next year, Tarke led the nation in steals per game at 2.94 and was second in total steals with 94. For his efforts he earned First Team All-MEAC, MEAC All-Defensive Team, and BOXTOROW All-American honors.

This past season was no different. Tarke was named Third Team All-MEAC and MEAC All-Defensive Team averaging 12.5 points per game and leading the team with 5.9 rebounds per game. He had a 20-point performance against the Towson in November.

During his three years at Coppin State, he averaged 12.2 points per game, scoring over 1,000 points and collecting 182 steals.

The Gaithersburg native was a two-time Washington Post All-Met selection scoring over 1,000 points at Bullis School. He was also a two-time Montgomery Sentinel All-County and All-IAC Conference selection before playing a prep year at Covenant College Prep in New Jersey.
