MONTREAL – Towson men's basketball used a strong defensive effort in the second half to win their fourth game in five days against Laval on Monday. Friedman
Tyler Tejada led the charge with 21 points.
Charles Thompson also reached double figures for the Tigers netting 19 points on 9-12 shooting.

- Tejada went 8-14 from the floor including 3-3 from three with three rebounds.
- Thompson added five rebounds with two blocked shots.
- Freshman Mekhi Lowery added six points and seven rebounds with five blocked shots.
- The Tigers shot 50 percent from the floor and scored 36 points in the paint.
How It Happened:
- The Tigers started out on fire with Charles Thompson scoring the first four points for Towson.
- Towson went on a 7-0 run over the first four minutes and extended that to a 10-2 run midway through the quarter. Tyler Tejada had a driving layup and three on the wing during the spurt.
- Towson continued their strong defensive effort the rest of the quarter, holding Laval to just 12 points to take a 20-12 lead after the first.
- Towson would continue to stay stout defensively in the second, forcing an early Laval timeout.
- Laval would get the Tiger lead down to single digits, but a putback by Tyler Coleman made it a double-digit advantage.
- Laval continued to cut into the lead, but a Christian May corner triple pushed the lead back to 10. However, a 4-0 run at the end of the quarter had the Tigers up 35-29 at the break.
- Charles Thompson led the way with 13 points and four rebounds. Tyler Tejada added 11 points in the first half.
- The Tigers came out of the locker room on fire in the third, ripping off a 14-0 run capped with a Tejada three to force a timeout up 49-29.
- Towson uses a big third quarter to distance themselves, outscoring Laval 21-6 in the quarter to take a 21-point lead into the fourth.
- The Tigers would continue their hot shooting in the fourth, going 50 percent from the floor in a 69-45 win.
