SPARKS, Md. – Towson University graduate
Ryan Drenner '17 has been named to the U.S. Men's Box National Team player pool in preparation for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships, announced by USA Lacrosse this week.
Drenner is one of 66 players who will be considered for the U.S. Men's Box National Team, which will compete in the 2024 championship from Sept. 20-29, 2024 in Utica, New York. The training camp will be this weekend in Utica in preparation for the North American Invitational from Sept. 29-30, 2023.
A four-time professional All-Star in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), Drenner just completed the 2023 season with the Cannons, finishing with 16 goals, seven assists and 10 ground balls. With Towson from 2014-17, the 2016 CAA Player of the Year earned 172 career points off 92 goals and 80 assists, twice being an honorable mention All-American in 2016 and 2017.
The U.S. Team has earned a bronze medal finish in all five World Lacrosse Box Championships, most recently in 2019.
