TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming & diving teams were edged out by Delaware Saturday afternoon at Burdick Pool for Senior Day. The Tiger men fell 160-140 while the Towson women fell 162-138.
Addie Scott won two races while
Ally Frame,
Claire Ryland and
Tiffany Matulis each picked up a win.
Shannon Parrau won on the 1-meter board. Towson also won the 200-medley.
Brian Benzing won three races while
Teddy Ament and
Kirill Pankov each picked up wins. Both Tiger relays took first on the afternoon.
How it Happened
For the Women:
- Shannon Parrau won on the 1-meter board with a score of 279.90.
- Parrau followed that with a second-place finish in the 3-meter dive with 262.13 points.
- Ally Frame, Tiffany Matulis, Riley Willett and Claire Ryland took first in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:44.44.
- Bridget Thomas (10:35.98), Lizzy Jones (10:38.05) and Dylan Gustaff (10:46.27) finished 2-3-4 in the 1000 free.
- Addie Scott's time of 1:52.21 in the 200 free was good for the win.
- Ally Frame (56.55), Janine Murphy (56.76) and Maddie Frick (58.38) swept the podium in the 100 back.
- Tiffany Matulis took first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.55.
- Samantha Casolo finished fourth in the 200 fly, clocking in at 2:06.62.
- Ryland won the 50 free with a time of 23.96. Marissa Kleckner took second (24.16).
- Scott picked up a second win in the 100 free with a time of 52.34. Ryland took third (52.67).
- Ally Frame (2:04.08) and Janine Murphy (2:05.70) finished 2-3 in the 200 back.
- Britney Denny took third in the 200 breast, clocking in at 2:24.11. Matulis took fourth (2:24.46).
- Scott took second in the 500 free with a time of 5:05.02.
- Willett took third in the 100 fly (57.71).
- Frick took third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.43.
- Scott, Ryland, Kleckner and Murphy took second in the 400 free relay (3:31.13).
For the Men:
- Aidan Clark took second place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 279.75.
- Clark took third place in the 3-meter with 215.85 points.
- Evan Bota, Brian Benzing, Benjamin Eischeid and Luke Schwar won the 200-medley with a time of 1:29.45.
- Teddy Ament won the 1000 free, clocking in at 9:39.58. Blakely Dean (9:47.10) and Christian Johnson (9:52.28) took third and fourth.
- David Walton took third in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.70.
- Sean Colson (51.05) and Reed Sells (51.32) finished 2-3 in the 100 back.
- Benzing won the 100 breast with a time of 52.78. Kirill Pankov took third (57.11).
- Theo Dietrich took second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.56.
- Schwar (20.95) and Daniel McLaughlin (21.17) took second and third in the 50 free.
- Schwar (46.35) and McLaughlin (46.87) repeated their 2-3 finish in the 100 free.
- Colson finished second in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.96.
- Benzing won the 200 breast with a time of 2:01.65. Kirill Pankov took third (2:05.06).
- Ament placed third in the 500 free with a time of 4:44.08.
- Benzing picked up his third win of the afternoon in the 100 fly with a time of 47.91.
- Pankov won the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.21. David Walton took fourth (1:56.52).
- McLaughlin, Eischeid, TJ Bearor and Schwar took first in the 400 free relay, clocking in at 3:03.45.
On Deck:
Towson will host the Tiger Winter Open over three sessions on Feb. 9 and 10. Session one is 5:00 p.m. Friday evening. Sessions two and three are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
